When an interviewer from SBS in Australia asked me to read a few paragraphs of my novel I froze. I had no idea which part I should read. Do I read the part where she meets the masked man? Do I read the part where she discovers who her boyfriend really is? Would people feel happier if I read about her getting dressed in these amazing gowns? Or, would the conversation with the blind man who sells the masks be enticing enough to spark curiosity (I think so!)?
She chose what she wanted and I should probably make a video about that too. However, in my search for a great thoughtful moment, I decided to create this video when the protagonist reflects upon immigration.
It feels timely to share it with you all.
